Dear Parents/Guardians
Bexley North Public School is a great example of the type of multicultural society that Australia has become. As our Minister for Culture, I want to organise an event that helps us celebrate and understand all of our different backgrounds, by showing or telling what it is like.
As a result, we are holding a Multicultural Day on 21 November. This day will provide students with an opportunity to bring food from their cultural background into the classroom, to be shared with their class. Those students who wish to can also talk about their culture with the class and what aspects of their heritage are most important to them. This day will help us understand the diversity of our school and what it is like to see other students’ cultures.
For any foods brought in, please avoid using nuts or shellfish for the safety of any children with anaphylaxis and please also write the name of the dish along with a list of ingredients.
Jesse Jones,
Minister for Culture
